Jim Cornette's discussion of hardcore wrestling caused me to think about the piece on hardcore wrestling shown on G4. They profiled Danny Havoc in the piece. I remember watching it and thinking those wrestlers are the dumbest people in the world. Havoc went through panes of glass repeatedly. They used real barb wire and a ton of other stupid gimmicks. Havoc then said a good performance in that match could spring board him to bigger things. They then put up a graphic that he got paid around $200 for the match. The piece had already established he had no health insurance, a wife and a child. I could not help but think what a mark. I not aware of what bigger opportunities there are for people doing stuff that stupid. CZW is pretty much the peak for that stupid stuff. Anyone who thinks they are doing that to get to the big time is fooling themselves.
