Recap of Allan Green vs. Edison Miranda
HBO Boxing from San Juan, Puerto Rico
Edison Miranda vs. Allan Green:
Green was complaining from early in the fight about headbutts and was constantly motioning to the ref who was fequently talking to both fighters. This seemed to not bother Miranda at all, while Green just kept looking to the referee and not focusing on fighting. Miranda controlled virtually the whole fight save for the fact he was knocked down in round 8 on a quick combination with one punch catching him flush on the jaw. Miranda recovered quickly though once standing and went on to win the next two rounds easily even knocking down Green twice in round 10. It arguably should have been stopped after the second knockdown, but there was less than ten seconds left and even in that short amount of time Miranda nearly finished it. It ended in a unanimous decision for Miranda: 96-91, 96-91, 97-90 (that's how I scored it as did Larry Merchant).
