Preview of I Heart Geeks for the Nintendo DS

I Heart Geeks is a collection of physics puzzles designed to keep players minds sharp in the same genre as Nintendo's Brain Training series. However, this game is very different from the Brain Training series. The game has no time limits for its over the 100 puzzles it has in single player mode. The game scores puzzles based on the numbers of attempts it takes a player to get the puzzle correct. It is not designed for a quick 3 minute play. However, it can be played that way. This game can throw new challenges at a player for a several hour play session. These puzzles are not simple, either. Some of these puzzles can take a while to solve. The replayability of this game comes from players trying to solve the puzzles in fewer attempts to beat their previous high scores. That allows the player to learn the game through trial and error. Then, come back and solve the puzzles in fewer attempts using the skills they have learned. That gives the player a real sense of accomplishment.

The game has been designed in cooperation with Marc Ecko Enterprises and features Ecko's unique art style in the game. I did not get a chance to try out the story mode in this version of the game. However, the characters are going to have a similar look to the distinctive character models used in other Marc Ecko games.

The game will support 2 player online play. There players will race against each other to solve puzzles in the quickest time.

The games addictive challenge made it the most popular game at the press event where it was announced. The extremely difficult real world physics problems had many of the press at the event spending more time playing this game then the other 4 games at the event combined. Players who like difficult mental challenges, should look forward to this game coming out in the fourth quarter of this year.

There are still 2 more Nintendo DS games to preview from this event. The goal is to have 1 coming out each of the next 2 days. After that, there should be a preview of 2 more XBOX 360 titles from E3.
